My Short Time In Mexico

Although many believe that Mexico is a steal for it's all-inclusive resorts, beautiful beaches, and proximity to America, I have to say that Mexico is not my go-to destination, nor would I recommend it for anyone else.

A Cruise Is The Way To Go

I would say that if you are looking to visit Mexico, or really any part of South or Central America, a cruise is a great option to explore those countries, but have a little guidance in doing so.

The cruise that we went on took us to the island of Cozumel and though some may say, "oh well that doesn't count as Mexico," yes it does. I went to Mexico. And though this may have only been a day trip, ie. a cruise port, I ate chips and guacamole and swam in the ocean so it most definitely counts to me.

I am going on about this Mexico experience because although Mexico may seem great, I am not going to be vacationing there anytime soon solely based on safety reasons. Even in small Cozumel, I was still on edge. Mexico is a dangerous place, even if you don't leave your resort.

But anyways, as for my short time there, the chips and guacamole were nothing special and the beaches are better in the Bahamas. So that's it.

Okay, but we spent the day on the rocky beach of Cozumel which was nice and then went to eat at a super cool place called Chile Tequila. The restaurant had amazing views of the blue waters and the vibes were really good! It looked like a tiki bar that had really cool lighting.

A pro tip for if you are eating out in Mexico, or other foreign countries is when it comes to paying the bill, always pay in their currency. So, for example, do not pay in USD for a taco, pay in Pesos. It should be cheaper that way and you should get a better exchange rate.

Now overall, I may not have had the luxury Mexico experience that other travelers do, but I would say that my cruise experience overall is what made me enjoy this time.
